Pack Rat

Late this afternoon, I tried to organize my stuff (closet, cabinets, drawers, book rack). Yez, I just didn't sleep and sit on my ass all day today. Woohoo! As I was cleaning up, I came upon my box. The box where I put everything paper- class cards, old journals, notes, receipts, tickets, cards and letters and all that jazz. The box is already full so I have to separate the ones that need to be discarded from the ones I should still keep. I decided to re-read and review each one. I'd still keep the concert, basketball game and movie tickets for scrap booking purposes. The receipts will go to trash. Geeze, my old drawings, the not so good ones need to go. I'll still keep the old sketchpad though. Oooh, cards and letters. Do I still have to hold on to those? You might have guessed right. I did keep. So much for hoarding history! Haha.

I've read somewhere that the reason why we cling to stuff is that we try to remember what is presently absent. That out of sight equals out of mind. It might be true. Will I call it a tragedy then? Maybe not because once upon a time it made me smile =)

*btw, i'm not the one wearing the shirt, i'm skinnier. hahaha...

73rd UAAP Opening and More (aka The Best Moments Were Not Captured)

Yesterday, the 73rd Season of the UAAP  Games officially started. The host school is the De La Salle University. This season's theme is: Where Heroes are Made. If you haven't seen the teaser, lemme share it. UAAP Season 73 Teaser

I have no plans of watching it but I received a text message from Maica asking me if I wanna go see the Opening Ceremony. Well, it's a Saturday and I have no other plans for the day. The problem is, I woke up 11:30am that morning and it starts 1pm. I haven't had breakfast, haven't showered and we have no tickets yet! I live in Antipolo and I have to go to Araneta Coliseum in Cubao. But as they say, if there's a will, there's a way.

To make the story short. We were able to purchase tickets that afternoon. Upper Box A only. We were not able to watch the Opening Ceremony but we were able to catch the first Men's Basketball Game between La Salle and UP. My best friend and I weren't expecting the UP Fighting Maroons to win because it's the Green Archers but we thought they'd be able to give a better game. Why did I say so? Because we heard that the UP players were trained in Singapore this time. (They already have a budget because of the tuition fee increase, hahaha). We were looking forward to the performance of the UP Pep Squad during the half-time break. And we were not disappinted, the pep squad gave a nice performance. They dance to canned music - Saludo Ako Sayo. I do like their uniform which consist of a maroon shirt and a military inspired pants. The score - don't even ask about it. It was kinda shameful (tambak ang UP - talo!).

As the title states - The Best Moments Were Not Captured. FAIL! And like we have nice seats during the game (not patron or lower box because it was sold out but we were in the first row of the upper box A which kinda have a nice view of the court). No video or photo of the game and the pep squad performance. D'oh!

After the game, we felt like eating so to Gateway FoodCourt we went. We just had fun shots meal. Strolled around the mall. Then we saw a Converse Exhibit. Art installation made from shoes and parts of the shoes - sole, shoelace, shoebox, etc.

I mentioned in my previous blog post that I want to have a Magic8Ball but I want it in pink. So while in Gateway, we went to Kids Depot. Unfortunately, no pink Magic8Ball is available, only black. It is cheaper in Kids Depot only Php 445.75. In Hobbes & Landes in Rockwell it costs Php 499.75. No pink, so I didn't buy, but Maica did. She says for her the color doesn't matter, she just wants the answer to her questions. I have to check Toy Kingdom soon.

Escalator moments. hahaha...

I'm not sure if we'll watch another UP Men's Basketball Game again. But definitely we will watch the UAAP Cheerdance Competition. <3

Letters To Juliet (plus the Encounter with Mean Girls)

Letters to Juliet - chick flick it is. So there is no better person to tag along than a girl friend or girl friends (the more the merrier, right?!). The movie is cheesy, sappy, predictable but it didn't disappoint me. I enjoyed watching the movie - the beautiful shots in Italy, the soundtrack, the charming actors/ actresses (I'm addicted to you Amanda). It is a guilty pleasure.

All three of us are wearing the same headdress (in different colors)

Girls who loathe jeans!

We (Mira, Shai and I)  left Cinema 1 on a high. And as always, after seeing a movie one always goes to the restroom. That we did. While there, this big mean girl started annoying us. She told her friend: "Hey Janice let's buy something... something matching." And yes, she made sure we heard her comment. We just ignored that comment of hers. (That was not the first time we saw them, coz they were on the same row as us inside the movie house).

Matching headdress and mood rings

We passed by an accessory stall. The mood rings took our fancy so we bought. Mine is a ladybug. Shai got the octopus. Mira chose the donkey mood ring. We stayed in the stall for a while to check if the mood rings really work/ change in color. While waiting we ask the sales personnel to have our photos taken. hahaha...

By that time we already forgot about the restroom incident. We decided to check out the new stuff in Zara.
But to our surprise we saw the mean girl and her friend again. My gaaad, I can't believe Rockwell is that small that we always bump into each other.

We felt hungry afterwards, to Gram's Diner we went. We looked at the menu and was about to settle. What do you know? Bratty girl and her friend were already having dinner there. Mira and I didn't notice them but Shai saw and heard the girl call her friend again and they were looking in our direction. It was Shai who suggested that we go to Pancake House instead.

It was not until we were in Pancake House that Shai told us why we left Gram's (despite the good food listed on the menu). That was like the fifth time we encountered the highschool girls (they don't look super young but we assumed that they are in highschool since they act like one). We thought that would also be the last. While waiting for our food (me thinks you know what's next)... Photo ops. Dinner was good. We were not able to finish dessert because we were that full. We didn't want to see the mean girls again, so we avoided Gram's Diner and took a different route. Shai even exclaimed: "Girls, check if the coast is clear." Oh well, tough luck. We saw the bratty girl again sans her friend Janice. This time she was with his boyfriend. We saw her six times that night!

Before going home we passed by Hobbes and Landes in search of the Magic 8 Ball. It is available there but only in black. I want one in pink. =)

We thought we'd see the mean girls again in the parking lot. Luckily we didn't.
