Xtremely Xpresso Xperience

Last Friday, April 9, 2010, my girlfriends and I had dinner at Xtremely Xpresso Cafe. The one we visited is located at Marquee Mall in Pampanga. It's more than just a coffee shop. It's a casual restaurant that serves Italian and American food. They have pizza, pasta, burger, salad, steak and more. We were not bored while waiting for our food to be served because aside from chitchat we have something else to do which is...

...answering mazes, crossword puzzles, sudoku and riddles
which is printed at the back of the paper placemat (nice!)
First time to encounter a placemat like that - dual purpose..

This is one giant pizza
Jen: I haven't seen anything like it before!
Macy: I have to forget about my diet tonight.
France: What are you guys waiting for? Chow time.

There's also this humungous burger.

The burger is not that special. It's just that it's big (although I've had burgers before which is the same size as the one served at Xtremely Xpresso). But I do love their frappe. I can even say that it taste better than those served at well-known coffeeshops in Manila. Even Maica share the same opinion regarding the frappe they offer. The cafe offers Lavazza, an Italian brand coffee. The place is cozy, food is fresh, and it is affordable. Customers can see their pizza being made and oven baked. It is a place to go to especially if in groups (friends or family). Too bad they don't have a branch in Manila. To date they only have three branches. One in Subic Freeport Zone, another is in SM Clark and the newest branch is the one located at Marquee Mall.

Thanks Lorgi and Ronnel for the treat.
We'll see you again on May 1 (baby Rynne's baptismal).

Mogwai Night

Have you ever been to Cubao Expo or Cubao-X? I'm guessing you at least have heard of it. Moreso, if you are the artist type or you've got artists for friends. It's formerly called Marikina Shoe Expo (up to this day there are nine shoeshops within the area). In this local Soho, you'll also find clothes and accessories boutiques, thrift shops, a  beauty parlor, a comic bookstore, and restaurants. Bellini's - that Italian restaurant where a scene in the movie One More Chance was shot can be found here. And yes, there's Mogwai.
there's the entrance (of course there's an exit too)

Despite the open bar at LAX, my bestfriend and I decided to spend our night at Mogwai. Geeze, if only the invitation to the open bar was sent to me a day before (kidding). Even if it was sent earlier,  we still would have chosen Mogwai over it. We just wanted to hang out and chillax (chill and relax) that night.
Mogwai

I was told that Mogwai is a character in the movie Gremlins. I didn't know that, I have yet to see that 80's movie. There's also a UK band named Mogwai. So this Mogwai place that Maica and I went to is a restaurant, a bar and a screening room all in one. Restaurant - they have pastas, rice meals, appetizers, snacks, soups and desserts. Bar - beer and cocktails. Screening room on the second floor - Dolby surround, art films and the likes.

The mismatched chairs, the "artwall" with body parts sculptures, the people who go there - all contribute to the place's unique sense of style.

Mogwai + Waiter = MOGWAITER =)

They are very nice and very attentive, you wouldn't expect that kind of service from a casual restaurant. And kuya even posed so that I can take a photo of his shirt.

Nomnoming and drinking
We shall return.
